This work photographs the state of the art of democracy in
Europe. The blue in this case, unlike in other continents, has totally
withdrawn on itself. Thus it no longer covers the entire canvas, which becomes
transparent, but only the central ball. Not only that, clay is not dry,
as in other continents, but semi-liquid. This consistency can be seen as a
symbol of fluidity, of a mother generating democratic seeds, but also in the
opposite sense, as a decomposing material, which can no longer maintain the
shape for which it was designed. Around the blue ball, the 27 yellow balls
representing the various EU countries. All sorted and covered with dry
clay. However 4 countries are slightly out of the circle to the east.
They are the countries of the Visegrad bloc, allergic to certain democratic
rules that the EU demands. To the west, however, only one spill, the United
Kingdom. Orderly and close to its ally. Yes, because above the EU there are
three human figures, which look like three puppets. The great world powers are
observing the spectacle of the collapse of the European federation: US; Russia
and China. The hominids are sitting on the edge of the canvas, watching the
show. They are white, the color of neutrality. Their shape is ironic but bulky.
