"SPRINT" is not an invitation to acceleration (of futuristic memory), but an exhortation to face without delay, the planetary drama of the dissipation of our habitat and its resources.
It is a sculpture-picture, suitable for wall hanging, but without the background support: an assemblage of heterogeneous elements, firmly linked, that seem to move in unison, but each according to its own inspiration.
The fulcrum of the composition is a bicycle wheel, around which a series of recycled objects orbits: coloured fragments of car bodies, polyethylene pipes already used for irrigation, the chain of the same disused bicycle and other finds of dubious origin.
The reuse and recycling of waste can be interpreted as an ecological and anti-consumer message, to which the wheel, witness par excellence of alternative means of transport, validly contributes in terms of sustainability, while the old oxidized handle, the barycentre of the composition, suggests the possibility of access to a new reality.
Among the themes of contemporary art can not be ignored that relating to the current state of alarm in which the planet is, however, offering glimmers of hope and exhortation to change.
