The cry for help from Mother Nature
echoed louder and louder. It was impossible to ignore the scream. The fires in
the Amazon and Australia forests, the oil spill in the Brazil sea, and the
endless ecological destruction in Brazil and in the world marked the beginning
of this chaotic year. This horror made me paint the forest burning among the
spirit of a koala dying while a fireman feeding another koala.
Months later, I
tried to finish the painting, but I couldn't keep this sad scenario on the
canvas. I confess that I felt bad. In a new layer, I destroyed the fires
through spontaneous gestures with the brush, as if they were energies from a
new beginning.
Unfortunately, forests catch
fire again. This led me to show the aura of mother nature in pain because
of the lives lost on fire. I painted nature's spirit as part of all beings. The
nature spirit that is all around us and protects us. This spirit has different
skin tones. It is the jaguar, the alligator, the man, the plants, and every
form of life.
In this painting, there is a strhg desire
for the human being to learn to live harmoniously with each other and with the
nature. I use a lot of green to calm the
forest that wants to live. So the forest can give us the cure we need so much
in this time of chaos. I finished the work on 04.10.2020, the day of San
Francisco, the protector of the animals. The work process was ten months long.
(January to October 2020).
