Sound of the Cosmic Drum

ॐ Aum is the primordial, effulgent sound which permeates the entire cosmos- the wise call it by many names. Swami Vivekananda explains “ॐ Aum is the basis of all sounds, it is self-begotten. The first letter A, is the root sound, pronounced without touching any part of the tongue or palate; U rolls from the very root to the end of the sounding board of the mouth & M represents the last sound in the series, being produced by closed lips.”  Spiritual masters concur: “ॐ Aum is the universal sound & ‘is not religious in nature’. It is the innermost music of our being.

ॐ Aum of the Vedas, Hum of the Tibetans, Amin of the Moslems & Amen of the Greeks, Romans, Jews & Christians is one & the same. It is the invisible divine power, the only doer, the sole causative & activating force that upholds all creation through vibration.” It is a sound not heard by the human ear, a key to access the cosmic intelligence. ॐ Aum is the common chord that binds these paintings together.
