Thinking on Barthes’ idea that, 'the truth can be found in the detritus', this is one of a series of paintings related to metal slag tipping across various continents. It relates to scale and migration of the process as countries' economies develop. Also being a reminder that metal slag forms the surface of our world and that these deposits will in time be colonised and absorb Carbon Dioxide.
