“Singularity” – The title of my artwork is an abstract representation of space time flow with acrylic on canvas. I have also used jute thread to highlight linear and curved aspect of space and time. Its singularity compared in biological plane which is Earth vs Black hole in Universe. Both dissolute into no space and time zones where law of physics cease to exist. Human consciousness through meditation experiencing infinity in white light where as black hole collapsing into darkness onto itself.
The painting has four distinct sections where each of them displays beauty and complexity of the universe through the use of colour and thread and further incorporate it into a one single flow where it invites the viewer to contemplate their place within the infinite universe and reflect on the connectivity that binds us to the space around us.
The composition is split into the blue green biological plane – “The Earth” and the dark red space extending into universe separated by a silver line. Both the zones experience a linear space and time which is shown by square jute mesh in the lower right corner. The universe moves forward in time with celestial bodies in space where as the earth rotates and moves forward with encompassed human consciousness.
The human consciousness achieves it, as meditative singularity which is to experience a profound sense of unity and interconnectedness with the world around them, leading to a dissolution of sense of self and a feeling of oneness with universe. Free from the constrains of past and future, and being in eternal present moment leads to timelessness. The painting depicts it by symbol of infinity.
The upper region of the canvas is moving from space in the right towards the black hole in the left. As the light moves with its seven radiant colors towards the black hole it experiences red light shift at the event horizon. The strong gravitational force of the black hole, slows down the light which is then eventually sucked into space time dilation and not seen. The space time wraps itself into a single point and this is shown through converging angular boxes.
