This piece was painted as part of the short film project with Charlie Pettitt. His drone footage revealed the aerial outline of one of my favourite spots on the bank of the Ganges. I love to paint what we don’t usually see. The world is so different from up there. Could this be our perspective, too?
The world is different from up there.
All the way up, cutting through the mist, the drone footage reveals another perspective on the world. You look down from the epic scale bird perspective, down on the riverbank outline, on the river: on how you have lived. . You realize it was not at all what you have thought it was. In fact, it was so much more grand and graceful. The ultimate love in your every life line in every online of the shore and every turn of the river. It was just not perceivable from below, when you have thought that small part of the bank was all there is. Now you see all the grandeur of both the riverbank and the Holy River Ganges flowing and their perfect interconnected dance.
