Wearing a mask has become a prominent feature of our lives in recent times. Watching multitudes of people going about their activities exactly as before with the single change of having their faces covered made me think about the act of masking. And I realise that hiding or covering ourselves is not new to humanity. We have worn masks in varying forms to protect ourselves physically, emotionally and mentally since the beginning of time. We wear clothes to cover our nudity, sometimes show strength to shield our weaknesses and may express confidence to shroud insecurity.
