In the work there is nothing inherent in the objects themselves. The iconic elements that I use from the store windows or flea market displays on their own live a peaceful coexistence but as we tend to view them we put our preconceived notions into action. They become symbols of cultures, nation-states or religion. There is a subliminal truth in the unpretentious display of these toys, objects or antiques spread out before us. I believe that they remind us of our own contradictions. The philosophical puzzle about harmony or entente cordiale?, our sometimes-innate character of fore judgment.
