This is part of my series " MURİ" and is a bridge between narrative and pictorical hyperrealism.
this work takes shape starting with my fascination with Renaissance art, architecture, and my overall culture as an Italian person.
Italy is a wonderful dying titan, centuries old architecture falling into pieces, eaten alive by moss, lichens, mould, and acid rains.
churchyards used as meeting center where holy and profane goes hand in hand, boozehounds and rosary beads.
In “MURİ” cement, calk, resin, steel and pigments becomes one. In the shape of a parallelepiped with the measurements of golden ratio of the renaissance man incased in iron as an archeological founding of some ancient and long lost civilisation. The future of my land. The weight of my materials is the weight of the heritage that I want my physical creations to talk about.
Overall using my paintings, different medium, disciplines, props and performances to create living scenography. Theatricality and decadence is the binding element of all my practices together with the dualism of the ”sacred” and the ”profane” of the old that coexists with the new-patinated now more accentuated than ever in Italy.
The smell of fresh tar, covering holes in the streets, pavemented over centuries ago. Moss, copper chestnut wood and Serena stone it’s the definition of my passion.
