I depict people important to me while placing them in memorable settings to trigger a nostalgic feeling, showing my upbringing and current life in general. This is a painting of me and my younger brother near the field of our older neighborhood where we lived for 9 years. The field is significant because it's where we use cross to go to our friends houses, where we met at, and did everything imaginable when we went outside. The ripstick on my brother's lap shows a little of what we use to do when going outside. We rode ripsticks, bikes, and scooters all around the neighborhood daily. The treat in my hand is called a "thrill" (what we call it in Savannah) basically koolaid and syrup freezed in cup, showing how when we use to ride around the neighborhood we always stopped at the candy lady to grab thrills and snacks.
