This painting comes from a series called “Painted Borders” which is a study of stateless nations. I painted the subject reminiscent of a travel poster with the background representing the subject’s homeland. Each people group is painted in their traditional garments. This painting is of the Rohingya people who are currently the largest group living a nomadic life without a pathway to citizenship.
