My work affects human subconsciousness by presenting an unconscious, perceptual stimulus that is not easily recognizable. A Lotus leaf and 5 hummingbirds in my works represent a strong vitality. If you ask me to pick up one of the representative element of the resurrection series, I would say hummingbirds. I'm obsessed with the hummingbirds because I want to use it as a powerful symbol of resurrection. Hummingbirds flap their wings as many as 50 times in a second to survive. I'd like to send you the message through the hummingbirds, "Let's live diligently."
I have adopted a Lotus leaf and images of hummingbirds as subjects that convey a strong message of vitality called 'resurrection.' The only colors used in this work by me are lemon yellow, which represents the theme, and baby blue, light green, and jungle green, which are used in action painting techniques in the background. It is a picture in which the shapes of a Lotus leaf and hummingbirds are separated from each other and become part of each other rather than being independent in itself. So a Lotus leaf becomes hummingbirds and hummingbirds becomes a Lotus leaf.
Lotus flower, the symbol of the Buddhist faith world, grow in mud, but are clean and noble. So it has been loved by many people since ancient times. In ancient Indian folklore, it symbolizes women's reproduction, and represents the creation of power and life. It was also used as a symbol of abundance, luck, prosperity, longevity, health, and fame, or as a symbol of the earth and its creativity, divinity, and immortality. Before the spread of Buddhism, China saw lotus flowers running clean in the mud and sang in the image of a nobleman who was not affected by the world, and used the ecology of running seeds as a sign of fertility.
The silhouette technique of my healing graphism works do not use anything other than the subject. While the images are symbolic, they are as simple as a symbol or a trademark. A happy man is not without wounds, but a man can heal himself through many wounds. My healing graphism works are emotionally capable of supporting this belief. Everyone lives with a variety of problems that are not resolved in their minds, though problems may differ from one person to another. Physical wounds heal over time, but mental wounds persist. Wounds exist in the form of energy within our bodies. No matter how hard we try to get rid of them or deny them, they are hiding somewhere and, from time to time, appear seemingly out of nowhere.
The action painting technique used as a background evokes a primitive sense. I approached my own unique action painting, reminiscent of the visual effects of closing up countless constellations in the night sky with an astronomical telescope. It's a more direct and concrete approach to the subconscious that we all have. Through the literature, I've learned that action painting techniques from Jackson Pollock have led to Sam Francis and many other artists, and I was confident that it's safe to apply them. Some people even think of scenes from Disney movies where Tinkerbell flies. It is also said that Tinkerbell's signature flying around the castle on the intro at the beginning of Disney's.
