REFLECTIVE LAYERS series: "Red Mirror"
In pursuit of an ever-evolving study process and the perpetual redefinition of material essence, we dive into the series "Reflective Layers." This collection embodies the essence of lines that appear to organically adapt to their surrounding environment through intricate branching patterns. These patterns come to life through the application of imprinting color onto the material's surface. In "Reflective Layers," this process unfolds on multiple sheets of transparent or colored PVC, each imprinted with acrylic paint. This layered material creates a reflective surface, a depth that channels the sense of the infinite, immersing the spectator in a profoundly layered experience. On the reflective surface, the viewer observes themselves, yet their image is blurred, almost ethereal, in constant flux, a fleeting reflection that transforms upon contact with the intricate ramifications of the artworks.The spectator melds with the roots of their own history, becoming an integral part of the artwork, a projection of their identity. Temporality plays a pivotal role in the pieces of "Reflective Layers." The accumulated layers capture the passage of time, the constantly flowing stream of life, all converging in the present, in a singular composition. The deep roots of our history redefine us, shaping our identity layer by layer, step by step, in a reflection exclusive to the here and now of our present. The roots of human history define us, while time continuously alters individual identities, layer by layer, step by step. Nevertheless, the roots remain steadfast, and the entity reflected on the PVC surface demonstrates how our entire past and history are encapsulated within a single reflection, bearing witness to the complexity of our story in the present moment.
