Puzzle #1

This series was born during the covid-19 shelter-in-place. Aspired to maintain a positive mindset as to manage the pandemic restrictions and difficulties, I focused on color psychology and incorporating materials and processes that feel immersive and meditative. Balancing control, change, and intuition, I puzzle various visual elements together to form a rhythmic composition that’s inclusive and playful. Through the process of constructing, deconstructing, and reconstructing, I cut and sew pieces of woodcut prints and translucent-color vinyl films in a collage style. This process symbolizes the life that’s interrupted with unprecedented events, even broken into pieces but we’re adapting and piecing them back together in a more vibrant and resilient way.
