Primordial rhizome, from the Greek root "rhizome", is
a large painting oil on canvas
a gorilla on a red background, with a female leg, the left, and a super filtering
N95 anti Covid mask 19 positioned on the right arm.
The primate represents the primordial part of humanity protagonist of the
contemporary era. The female leg refers to the stereotypes of the current
world and to the attempt to abandon the concept of object woman, a legacy
of our recent past. The single human limb is a surreal element of the work.
The mask placed on the arm in the manner of today's young people is the
symbol of the will to rebellion against the concept of lockdown in the sense
of deprivation of individual freedom also experienced in the relationship
with the Other, but it is also a desire to counteract the economic interests
behind it, to this historical period, which compress the arm (and the soul)
almost like a hemostatic elastic.
