In the summer of 2024, I was in Venice and I was fascinated by the reflections of light in the lagoon, which I had never seen anywhere else in the world. This light was hopeful, powerful, full of energy and I really wanted to capture it in pictures of myself - for myself and everyone who felt the same way in this wonderful city.
That's how my series of textured images came about last month, reflecting my mood in Venice with cracks and colour contrasts. So there was no other choice for me to submit for this award. Each picture stands on its own, but can also work in a series or formation of four - like my view of Venice - remarkable, respectable, rugged or beautiful in detail, in detail and as a whole - always very special. This applies to all 4 pictures in this series.
