A double sided painting depicting an ID card from an alternate universe. The image plays on the traditional format of an ID, pairing the regular headshot with other body parts and emphasizing the toy-like qualities of the card. The painting also combines the motifs of a Virginia State ID with that of a Kazakh passport, while scrambling the scannable digital elements on the back of the card. The object strives to examine the significance and function of an ID card in our world, while dissecting the numerous connotations attached to its thin plastic surface.
