Countries around the world are toppling and the dangers of radicalization has driven many away from their homes. Economic hardships and boiling social pressures has left many in this century feeling angry or helpless. Families and ethnic groups who lived for generations in their homelands are forced to leave all they knew behind, sometimes with only the clothes on their backs and nothing more. The sanctity of the home no longer exists in today’s world. The home of the 21st century is a bunker and a prison. A real home does not cause these symptoms. a real home is the womb of the woman. Where else did person know true peace and harmony but from within their mother’s womb? The womb provided us with food and warmth, the day when we are separated from our mothers is the day we swore to return to that comfort. The first noise a baby makes is a scream, as it cries after being separated from heaven. My painting shows how the woman is the home. A home can always be rebuilt and only needs the love and care of the people. My painting was created in 2017 using oil, enamel acrylic on canvas.
