Once II was created by superposition of glazing layers of aerosol paint on acrylic and ink underpainting. The hazy quality of the portrait challenges the viewer to respond in a very abstract way to face features. Qualities such as gender, identity, and appearance are translated on assumptions based on previous experiences, cultural beliefs and values.
