Name my name #2

“Name my name” is a series of artworks about self-identity and the importance of an artist’s name in today’s art world. 

Each piece includes a trace of my signature: my given name, surname or my social media account’s name. In a way it is also a series of abstract self portraits. The development of the series meant to reflect on accepting process of the artistic self. 

I started to work on this painting while being alone on a second lockdown in Milan. I chose round canvases to emphasise the self centring of the “name” concept.
