This painting comes from a series called “Painted Borders” which is a study of stateless nations. I painted the subject reminiscent of a travel poster with the background representing the subject’s homeland. Each people group is painted in their traditional garments. This painting is of the Naga people who are currently at risk of becoming stateless without a pathway to citizenship.
