Muted explores the concept of where we are moving today in our world and society with technology and where art fits into that world. If any work of art that already exists can be recreated and the fact that artificial intelligence has already proven to be smarter that a human, will the need for an original work of art by an artist still be wanted? Or will patrons of the arts prefer to have their own Sistine Chapel on their wall or ceiling. Will the art being created today fade into the background? Will art as we know it be muted or will artists always be able to evolve? Muted was created by painting layers of different colours of oil paints, allowing each layer to dry before applying the next. The top layer was thick white oil paint put on and the scraped off to allow a hint of the colours underneath to bleed through. A subtle reminder of the bright colours that preceeded.
