Death, sickness, global warming, which the idea of is often revolting, cannot be avoided, extracted from the human condition. My multi-coloured varnishing expresses the necessity to transcend these in their own way, to bring them out into the world under their most bearable aspects, because whatever we do, they are a part of us.
Ultimately, life triumphs despite human madness, and what else symbolises this promise better than a tree. It is the guarantee of the life cycle on our planet; it is our lungs, the purifier, and the temperature regulator. Under its branches it shelters a rich ecosystem made up of everything that is alive, plants, animals, mushrooms, from its invisible roots to its canopy MORNE COURBARIL, whether multiple in the forest or isolated in the desert, the tree thrones the summit of the food chain without a doubt and not the opposite as written in our school manuals. This humble and patient being offers life to all beings that populate the terrestrial countries, whereas Mankind has resolutely taken the opposite direction since he forgot Yggdrasil, The World tree from Nordic kingdoms, the neglected biblical Tree of Life and left the foot of the tree to the African Palaver tree.
MORNE COURBARIL magnifies the sol beauty of the tree, of its dancing branches and leaves with a thousand multi-coloured reflections.
