“Mimetic Allegory”, whose symbolism is
potentially inexhaustible: the snake can be regarded as the symbol of
mimeticism itself; seemingly giving shape to the symbol of the
infinite, it reminds us of the virtually infinite essence of
mimeticism and scapegoating. The flower can be the symbol of life,
trapped in mimetic relationships. And the bird? The bird can be
regarded as the symbol of our humanity: we are mimetic beings, we are
drown to the ‘being’ of others; but – unlike the snake – we
can also fly, and aspire to a form of imitation that doesn’t lead
us to violence and scapegoating.
