"Metaverse: Reality Shift. Rooms. MetaBedroom"
Interactive audiovisual project
Acrylics on canvas 3*(60*50) cm - 60*150 cm (triptych) + glasses + audiotrack
You can see the stereoscopic 3D effect through the anaglyph glasses but only live.
The sound design is made entirely from sounds of three objects from the bedroom (alarm clock, lamp, pillow). Sound design by Andrii Yefymov
We are staying more and more at home, but less and less outside of virtual reality (social networks, applications, films, etc). We almost live in it.
We go to sleep holding a smartphone in a hand, because what there is nothing new to look at in the bed? Have you ever noticed that? Virtual reality takes away almost all our attention, and we do household things "automatically". We hardly see, we hardly hear.
So what is reality then? Is virtual reality real and has our reality become virtual now?
1. Do you use gadgets just before bedtime? Do you sleep well and sufficiently? Do you read messages on social networks or watch TV series/movies in your bedroom? Do you go to sleep late at night and wake up early in the morning?
A good night’s sleep is critical for good health, but virtual reality takes away almost all the attention, and we go to bed with eyes stuck in our favourite content. Have you ever noticed that? What time is now? Is it late again? What time is your alarm set for?
2. Do you read messages on social networks or watch TV series/movies in your bedroom? Do you see your bedside lamp when switching it off? Is the bedside lamp switched on or off? Are you sure?
3. Do you look at your pillow when going to bed? What pillowcase is in use now? Are you sure?
