The unexpected year of 2020 made us keep social distance from others since the outbreak of COVID-19. Instead, it gave me more time to get along with myself and reflect what I have experienced in the past. When you are alone, you will always remove your society mask which everybody wears when they are working and living in the society. This mask or even disguise will form a huge abyss. We always expect to know what lies under the abyss, but when you look into the abyss, it is also looking at you. We can't help but wonder, who is "me"? In the reality, there is always a feeling of separation between reality and fantasy in the environment. We can't distinguish whether we are in fantasy or reality. What we can't distinguish is not only everything in front of us but also ourselves. Many familiar or unfamiliar images collide with each other, which can bring us a deeper thought of sensation. I am willing to capture those and share with the audience. In the painting, I weakened the emphasis of concrete realism on the texture of visual objects, and turned to the expression of spiritual world. Every object in the picture seems to be asking you: Do you really know yourself?
