Linea
(pentaptych) 2020
I painted a painting called Linea in 2020. It is a pentaptych consisting
of images of various dimensions joined together which also together form a
puzzle in several spaces. I could also demand that they exist in different
time-space dimensions.
I have always been interested in the clash, antinomies that create our feeling
and understanding of the micro and macro world. Rational geometry of reason and
organic geometry of emotions.
The line is a symbol. Two connected points, either with a precision tool
or simply plotted by hand. Both lines have many similarities but in the
opposite way describe the world. The first is abstractly perfect but dead,
while the second is emotionally and organically imperfect but alive and is the
image of the person who created it.
The line is a piece of infinity
The line marks the direction
The line connects
The line leads to the destination
The line sets the boundaries
The line separates
The line brings order
The whole is immersed in the vastness of the ocean of events on a micro
and macro scale where relationships seem to be random and unrelated. Here, we
need to discover and shape this relationship and maybe name it. Maybe a whole
new sense.
Today, in an era of unprecedented pandemic crisis, this statement may
take on special significance.
*The work presented was created in 2019 and is a continuation of a long
series of paintings from the series Inscriptions and Records. The picture
consists of six panels with a wooden board. It is also possible to set the
picture elements differently with each other. Individual modules can exist as
autonomous images.
Inscriptions and Records are cycles started in 1994 with a diploma
series of paintings and frescoes titled "I'm going out of Blackness like
from Egypt".
The mythological way out of Egypt as captivity is a symbol of releasing
one's consciousness from ignorance. In painting, this process symbolizes Light
and color as opposed to Darkness and black which means non-existence. Light and
color means consciousness and life. This is the basic antinomy that allows us
to reflect on our human condition.
I've been trying to
talk about it for years, thus writing my boards with available knowledge about
myself and the world in which I live. In accordance with your current
capabilities in the context of the moment.
