This painting is from the series "Children of The Universe".
I always try to portray each child in its uniqueness and its childlike vulnerability, but basically each of my child portraits is also a kind of self-portrait, since each child becomes the mirror of my innermost questions, fears and thoughts.
In this painting, I dealt with the existence of parallel worlds by mixing the child's imagination with a character from the Science Fiction world. Baby Yoda from "Star Wars" series is Lina’s soft toy, it is a kind of Guardian Spirit to the little girl in this painting.... The eyes of the child attract the gaze of the viewer and take him/her into the spherical layers of the girl's child's universe. The distinctive tension and depth in most of my pictures arise from the free combination of graphic elements and painted elements. In this painting I have deliberately exhausted the contrast between the graphic lines and the painted portrait in order to increase the tension by using different techniques. Thus, the graphic part becomes an abstract curtain behind which the girl hides from the world outside.
