Life of Kelp

Motion of the ocean is a work created by the sun and the motion of kelp in the ocean. The technique is cyanotype (blueprint). During an Artist In Residence near the Dutch shore i observed the movement of kelp (seaweeds). The motion on the water intrigued me. I printed the kelp with the sun on paper that i prepared with a light sensitive emulsion. The dept of the artwork reminds me of the layers of life and movement in the deep ocean. I fascinated by the story behind this kelp, to what places will this kelp travelled to dancing on the waves and current? I wonder how the route of the kelp will change dure to current changed caused by global warming and climate change. Kelp is a huge source of life for many animals and plankton in the ocean.
