By constructing a narrative of lovers, this work unsettles perceptions of androcentric sexuality and love in an era of gender fluidity and technologically mediated intimacy. Sexuality requires a basic sameness from a host of differences. Perspectives of attachment would argue that individuals can only exist within relationship, rendering the notion of an autonomous self a myth. Attempts to disavow our inherent embeddedness with others erode with the expansion of other dimensions of interpersonal interactions ushered in with the rise of technologically mediated communication and digital entanglement.
