Lafore Palmie ("Palm Tree Forest" in Mauritian Kreol) is inspired by a press article on the last endemic Palmiste Blanc (Dictyosperma album) found in the wild in Mauritius. The article stated it was growing in the forest of Maccabee situated in the Black Gorges National Park. Lafore Palmie offers a surrealist view from the Maccabee viewpoint upon the Tourelle de Tamarin Mountain, at the bottom of which the artist lives.
Land-based and marine life are intrinsically connected, as the well being of one often depends on the later. A rich and biodiverse vision of a struggling National Park by the ocean.
