The artwork consists of two intertwining and complementing paintings. I used a variety of materials and techniques to capture the essence of liberation and the strength required to achieve it. Energy and force are depicted through an impressive wave, while liberation is personified by a dancer spinning towards the light, creating a unique artistic expression.
Darkness, symbolizing fears, negative experiences, toxicity, and pain, dissipates into the large wave, leaving all that behind. This is why black and gold were chosen; the golden hue of the wave merges with the gold of the dancer's dress, representing the source of liberation from everything that harmed her, thus finding the light.
The sun, a source of light and warmth, symbolizes rebirth and renewal, change, or a new beginning of life.
This artwork is very significant to me as it symbolizes my liberation from blocks, fears, and worries. Through willpower and resilience, I managed to overcome significant obstacles in my life. Though the process wasn't easy, my determination to change allowed me to leave behind the past that haunted me and start living more fully in the present, embracing my talent (which I had doubted many times). Nowadays, I feel a renewed energy and a guiding light in my life in all aspects, especially in the creative. I am grateful for it and seek to share my experience to help others.
