The next two works come from the Casual Encounters series of works where I use imagery appropriated from the personals section of the American classified website Craigslist. From a distance they read as traditional painting, but like the floral sculptures, they are very different once a viewer takes the time to carefully inspect them. From up close they discover that the “paintings” are entirely constructed using commercially produced paint chip swatches that I acquired from suburban DIY stores.
