This is a collage of 3 paintings, each subject is a family member.
I'm putting these paintings side by side to portray the sense of isolation we feel despite living together.
While being alone is necessary for reflection and recovery, it's hard to cross the line over and ask for connection. I find when people feel their worst, there's no clarity about what we need - whether it's a connection, space, or the need to be heard.
Instead, we isolate and go further into our web of worries. Coping has meant a whole new deal since the pandemic - we have to re-learn how to be with people and ourselves. Whether that may be possible to do fully and whole-heartedly, is something I'm yet to discover.
