Series «The emptiness»
The pandemic made it clear how fragile
and illusory our reality is. The routine of the usual days disappeared in an
instant, turning into nothing. Was it ever real or was it just an illusion,
veiled by the need to perform certain actions endowed with imaginary value?
The virus made it possible to stop and
be alone with himself. Listen. Think about who we really are and what is the
true value of our life?
The series of works
"Emptiness" is based on the study of the fragility of the matter of
reality. Its transformativeness and illusion. And also its influence on the
formation of personality and self-identification. What happens to a person when
his reality collapses? When there is a nagging feeling of anxiety, uncertainty,
and emptiness.
White color in my works as a metaphor
for zeroing, new life, annihilation, and change. The works deliberately do not
offer an interpretation of the result, since everyone has their own. Will we
have enough courage to step towards change, a new reality, a new self, or is it
easier to stay in the comfort zone, endowing it with meanings and reassuring
ourselves with lies?
One way or another, the new reality has
already been formed, and what it will depend on each of us.
"Emptiness, like an infection,
penetrates self-awareness! It seeps with gray longing, crowding out the past.
Or maybe she was always there, behind the screen of an endless race and a
string of endless affairs endowed with imaginary value?
One way or another, once this “nothing”
pops up, filling all the space with itself. And now, the usual routine of body
movements loses its meaning - leaving vague echoes of its existence. In an
instant, everything that formed reality disappears, framing the escape route
with a thick trail of hopelessness.
As a result, you are left alone with yourself,
with a person whom you seem to have never heard of until this moment. Your life
was only a copy of other people's opinions in your world wasn't a place to
search for yourself, true meanings, destinations, and other intangible matters
of the inner world. Killed individuality, you took the collective unconscious
as the vector of truth, annihilating your essence.
Now, having strayed from the herd and
remained in a hopeless void, you are trying to fill the bottomless hole,
breaking through the silence pierced by the purest white radiance ..
Now, you are nothing, and you are
everything .. Emptiness and the whole universe!"
