Impression of Africa or burnt mountain

In this painting the landscape is represented by the burnt mountain.

I worked (on a mosaic fresco on the theme of ecology) in a district where many African nationals lived. I worked for the African community, surrounded by Africans. I was already committed to the theme of ecology, but the individual stories about wars, poor water management, deforestation and the famine that followed changed my perception of the world, made me aware of the scale of the problem. At the same time, I was dazzled by the regal appearance of traditional dress and the splendour of celebrations. The series was born.
