All I can see within this pattern are the captivating signs of “هُوَ”. It’s fitting that it is found at a tomb (of Mughal Emperor Humayun), as the arched doorway suggests the soul’s passage from this plane of existence to beyond the veil into the hereafter
The Kaaba in the center of a gold star denoting the cardinal directions, encircled by the silver tiles to represent the four angels assigned to uphold the Arsh (Throne) of Allah swt since the beginning of Time
The shimmering 8 white tiles directly connected to the silver ones: “And on that Day (of Judgment), the Throne of your Lord will be carried above them, by eight [angels]” [Quran (69:17)]
The deep blue to symbolize water, both as a life sustaining element [Quran (21:30)] and as pools of knowledge
The two spinning, spiraling, whirling galaxies are a reminder not only of Time, both as we know it, and as perceived by the Divine realm, but also to reflect that just as Muslims circumambulate the Kaaba in a counterclockwise direction on Earth in worship at any given moment in time, so the legions of angels simultaneously circumambulate Al-Bait-ul Ma’mur (in the highest Heaven) offering prayers and reciting hymns of remembrance in His praises at all times [Quran (52:4)]
The dark pink petals symbolizing His Divine Will abloom, connected to the shimmery white tiles representing His regents, the angels, who manifest His Plans for each soul on all the worlds (multiple gold lines connecting to a singular point on the turquoise tiles represent the impact on one of the many billions of souls who have ever walked upon this earth)
The turquoise tiles represent Earth, then, now and until the Final Day (past, present and future)
You see, for Allah swt, all Time exists simultaneously and He knows what was, is and will be, at every instance
What do we perceive of as ‘Here’ and ‘There’, when since the Dawn of Time (as we know it, and even before, He, Al-Qadeer (the All-Powerful) and Al-Wasi (The All-Encompassing) is Everywhere
“Why struggle to open a door between us when the whole wall is an illusion?
In the silence surrounding (your) every call of ‘Allah' waits a thousand replies of ‘Here I am’”- Rumi
