The painting was born from a small idea, quickly sketched on a sheet while I was on the train. When I then moved on to the practical phase, I represented a painter dummy who, taken from the ecstasy of inspiration, grasps the ideas that are projected from the cosmos into his mind. With this oil painting I therefore wanted to represent the genesis of the creation of any work, which always comes from an already existing idea and always present in a reality different from our physical plane. Our brain is the organ capable of drawing on this inexhaustible reserve of energetic ideas that are just waiting to be realized and to do so you need to have the carefree soul of a child.
The painting is also a more or less direct tribute to the famous Pala di San Giobbe, by Giovanni Bellini, which entranced me during a visit to the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice in June 2020; For this reason, in the very geometric composition, based on thirds and on the number five, I have inserted the figures of San Sebastian and San Francesco on the sides of the picture.
