Kwangpunglyu (Light, Wind and Flow) is a combination of the words light and pungryu. The word punglyu comes from traditional Korean culture. It is about an exchange between people while enjoying the harmony of music, painting, dance, calligraphy and poetry.
I created a new style of painting by combining the poetic elements of painting, music and dance. The movement to the music and to improvising on the themes of the music create a very vivid painting process that can be sensed in the result.
For example, I created "I will forgive you like a Lightstrom" to the song "Dope" by B.T.S. I paint the pictures as if dancing to the rhythm of the music to express forgiveness in the work. Forgiveness is a hot energy that dissolves conflict in human relationships. The dynamics of the color lines express the melting and erasing the of firm beliefs and memories to enable true forgiveness.
My main topics are love, healing and forgiveness. Through the combination of the different arts, Kwangpunglyu communicates the ideas and energiesof the musician and the poet through painting. The created experience is one of exchange of joy and sorrow by touching and purifying all senses of the viewer.
