Coming to Britain from Russia, and so without voting rights, I notice what challenging times these are. Brexit has become a great spectacle with its dramas of legal action, resignations and unpredictable elections. It seems like Guy Debord's "Society of Spectacle" come to life.
Where might a fair society be found? Where are the happiest people? If someone could tell me, that's where I would settle.
Until then, our very disappoint generates a desire for new philosophical theories. In this self-portrait I am also suggesting a visual commentary for our confusions with the absurdist attempt to explain Brexit to a dead pig. In so doing, I am paying homage to Joseph Beuye's performance "Explaining pictures to a dead hare," as seen in Dusseldorf in 1965.
