Based on a dream.
Like 'How Did He Get There In The First Place I' the title of the work suggests an impossible psychological state of the protagonist and that there is no way to escape it, but the realisation of the protagonist that he is in this state in itself is the escape.
The three women with the bow and arrows, actually two by fours as arrows, as if they are meant to shoot the protagonist out of balance rather than to injure him, these three sisters refer to the Three Sisters of Sorrow by Thomas de Quincey in his book: Confessions of an English Opium-eater.
