From the terrace of the Casa Granda hotel in Santiago de Cuba. I made a watercolor from another point of view, and leaning on the railing, I am seized by the relationship of colors between this wall of the building opposite, bright blue and the purplish pink of this car parked in the street. A motorbike, a passer-by, it's nearly 40 degrees and the light is creating very clear breaks in the ground, which is stained with motor oil. All of Cuba in a very tightly framed scene. A fleeting moment, captured on the spot and painted back in the studio. A painting of memory in short. The painting is done with pigments mixed with linseed oil on a canvas prepared with gesso, Lefranc-Bourgeois and Sennelier fine oils. A mat varnish is to be done. Signature by initials on the bottom right of the canvas, signature and date on the back, possible dedication.
