This image belongs to my series of art work "protecting nature". Forests all over the world are destroyed, either by hand of men or by natural disaster and climate changes. There is more and more lack of respect of majesty of tall and old trees, even healthy ones without disease, are cut down by men either for commercial issues or just by getting rid of them or fear they may be a source of injury. They forget that during men`s life time such trees will never be seen again as it needs more than 100 years to grow that size. For all these reasons, I like to raise attention to not ignore the fact that we are depending on nature and that it is a source of wellbeing for us. It is furthermore a source for refreshing our souls and to let us take away from daily pressure to work harder and harder. The resting hawk should remind us to just cut time out of our busy life style and to remember that we are also part of the creation.
Concerning techniques, this is a large size pastel painting. This is a challenge which I overcame because dusty particles can cause a dirt effect in particular at the lower part of the painting.
