Inspired by Maria Lassnig, whose art was not understood in her time.
Even her professor at the art academy threw her out because he thought
her art was "degenerate". Even today there are many who ask themselves
"What the fuck, Maria Lassnig?" when they see her artworks, because the
artist did not depict reality, but what she felt ...!
In my work I
pay my great honor to an artist whom I got to know through Mr. Klewan.
Mr. Klewan was the first gallerist and collector who exhibited and
represented her works in his Munich gallery.
When I visited Mr.
Klewan in his apartment in Munich, I saw my work hanging next to that of
Maria Lassnig (I am also represented in Mr. Klewan's collection) I
probably looked surprised because Mr. Klewan immediately explained that
he thought the pictures go well together.
