This 'Gold Puzzle BYR ' is a geometric representation of the irrational number PHI (Φ) and its first decimals.
It contains 7 golden rectangles. The trapezoidal pieces, all different and yet covering the same surface each when in the same row, are determined by diagonals starting from the lower-left corner.
This artwork was originally imagined to represent a family tree. Hence the idea to replace the family members with the 62 first decimals of the golden number Phi. A color is assigned to each digit, (yellow for 1, light blue for 2, and so on)
The read direction starts clockwise from the smaller rectangle up to the largest one.
Half of the pieces are raised following a specific pattern to add a slight 3D effect.
