«G.i.F» is a moving work with extensive realization & long gestation. It grows according to human temporality, changes, consolidates or lightens according to the times. Dealing with an infinity represented here, in a finite frame (that of the painting), the main character is none other than a friend of late adolescence, painted on the spot when I was 18 years old, just like the sky with Rubenian influences dear to my age of the time. Caught in a sketched sphere, similar to the planet he inhabits, now he looks to the future, an extended universe, familiar to the Garden of Genesis or to the nature we know. It is however impermeable, vainly trying to borrow the codes dear to past pictorial periods (the nimbus, the hand, the stigmata, etc...).
The fullness of the work explores the notion of putting in abyss, which she totally marries by making herself part of the whole that she portrays. It synthesizes this loop of an infinitely finite time, a gif that repeats itself in the incarnation of the cycles that shape us. From an aesthetic point of view, she amuses herself to divert the codes & pictorial representations inherited, borrowing from glitch the pixelated matter & from the contemporaries their clothes to dress the prophets of today having an eye on the future. As with Caravaggio & his Saints dressed in the Roman fashion of the sixteenth century, everything here is only a pretext to reassign Man to his perpetually repeated place, that of an entity that despite the changing times, constantly re-examine the place he occupies and the real nature of what is beyond him. Then he can only presuppose...
