This artwork imagines Existence as a flowering seed which split through the black plane of non-existence and bloomed into Being the ‘Flower of Life’, which continuously blossoms and withers away in Divine Time until the Day of Judgement
The Kaaba represents Divinity, the white tiles, His regents, the angels, who manifest His Divine Will and uphold His Throne
Green, symbolizing all the life forms within the florae and biota such as plants and fungi
Magenta, all non-living phenomena
Red, the color of new stars composed of hydrogen and to represent not just the oxygenated blood of mammals like human beings, but that of all animals
Deep blue, to symbolize water, as a life sustaining element, pools of knowledge, and deoxygenated blood which the heart circulates through the lungs to be continuously reoxygenated with every single breath
A human body experiences 10 quadrillion cell division in a lifetime, not just from the moment of conception where through meiotic cell division the one ovum splits in to two cells and so on until a new life is formed, but also the DNA repair mechanism/replication; mitosis (animal cells), binary fission (prokaryotes, eukaryotes such as bacteria and archaea) and nuclear fission to name a few
A dizzying realization: From His Singular Essence, appears multiplicity through cell division/splitting within all living and non-living phenomenon in the Universe
The light blue octagrams have a gold star to reflect this Divine spark central to all Existence and the color is a nod to the scientific occurrence known as ‘sonoluminescence’, where sound waves in water create light
The exact understanding of “how” is still enshrouded in mystery just as doctors may know “when” and “what” but can not speak to *how* that first miraculous spark ignites an electrical signal within a 6 week gestation fetus, which begins the beating of, a still forming, human heart
“Man would be merely flesh but for his heart, both seas and mountains he can split apart: The heart splits rocks, lifts mountains through the sky, God’s verse: He split the moon, proves I don’t lie. Just lift the cover of this mystery, your soul will seek God’s Throne then eagerly” - Rumi
