Flora is a painting where the brought up visual fruition questions women's paper in the contemporary society.
Many that I know, besides working to raise funds for their family survivals, have to deal with all the house chores on their own, and still look after their kids.
This is a feminist piece, because it inquires and investigates the contemporary concept of feminism. Of course, women have conquered their rights to vote, to work, they somehow have conquered a voice... but still, feminism means equality and not all the labour to the ladies.
In my opinion, planet earth is still professing patriarchalism, but now in a different contemporary way.
The colours I have chosen are red, regarding strength but also pain. Pink regarding all the women. Shades of blue for the papers they are having to assume in contemporary world. And the gold leaves go for the money they have to chase in order for their children not to starve (and even sometimes support their husbands financially).
