With fires ravaging the Western landscape, we have seen here in Montana that the flames are alive-they twist, twirl and groan, with a life all their own. It is wild and unstoppable. The almost skeletal highlights represent lives lost. The massing of varied colors on the neck, the populations disturbed. Even firefighters talk about this new animal that consumes so quickly, they can only stand back and watch as it curls down the steep slopes of the Rocky Mountains, driven by wind. This is Global Warming. We see it in our landscape, smell it in our homes and pray for our neighbors closer to the mountains. No place is really safe and unaffected in the world from Climate Change-no matter how guarded or far away. The time for action is NOW.
